Andorra and the Vall d'Incles
After an unforgettable time in Spain, we finally arrived in the beautiful Principality of Andorra. After more than two weeks of camping, we decided it was time to rent a holiday apartment for a few days.

Part of our camping equipment had been badly damaged by an extreme storm in Spain, so this turned out to be the perfect decision. Fortunately, our apartment had a large terrace, allowing me to set up my antenna perfectly for another successful radio activation.

Nestled in the heart of the Pyrenees between Spain and France, Andorra is one of Europe's smallest countries, with a population of around 80,000 people. It is best known for its breathtaking mountain scenery, countless hiking trails, world-class ski resorts, and duty-free shopping. However, beyond the busy shopping streets, Andorra reveals a completely different side—peaceful, unspoiled, and surrounded by spectacular nature.

Our destination was the beautiful Vall d'Incles, one of Andorra's most picturesque alpine valleys. The valley is famous for its lush green meadows, crystal-clear mountain streams, and the impressive peaks of the Pyrenees. During the summer months, Vall d'Incles becomes a paradise for hikers and nature lovers, offering countless trails leading to alpine lakes, traditional mountain huts, and breathtaking panoramic viewpoints. Despite its popularity, the valley has preserved its authentic and peaceful atmosphere, making it one of the most beautiful and tranquil places in the country.

For us, Vall d'Incles offered another great advantage. Thanks to the open location in the mountains and the spacious terrace of our holiday apartment, the conditions for setting up the radio antenna were simply perfect. Surrounded by the spectacular scenery of the Pyrenees, we enjoyed several relaxing days while making radio contacts with stations from all over the world. The combination of stunning landscapes, peaceful surroundings, and excellent operating conditions made our stay in Vall d'Incles one of the absolute highlights of our journey through the Pyrenees.

While exploring the beautiful mountain country of Andorra, we also took the opportunity to do a little shopping. As Andorra is a duty-free country, many products are considerably cheaper than in neighbouring countries. Alcohol, in particular, is available at very attractive prices, and we also found great bargains on perfumes, coffee, and many other items.
We had a wonderful time in this small country high in the Pyrenees. Between the stunning mountain scenery, charming villages, and relaxed atmosphere, Andorra became one of the highlights of our European road trip. It is a place we will always remember with great pleasure.
But our adventure was far from over. Leaving the Pyrenees behind, we crossed back into France and continued our journey to our next destination: the magnificent medieval city of Carcassonne in southern France, where another unforgettable chapter of our European expedition was waiting for us.
